SolarLink
The irradiance engine for your solar asset.
SolarLink watches every inverter against what it should be producing — that's the alert. Here's what happens next.
Producing vs. performing
Your system is producing. Is it producing what it should?
Most monitoring shows bars going up and down. That tells you the panels work. It doesn't tell you whether they're working at rate. Turn on the expected line to see what SolarLink sees.
This is what most owners see: production every month. Looks fine, right?
Inverter B · 113 kWp · Jan–Oct. Real readings from two commercial inverters, names removed. Expected production is calculated from satellite irradiance, connected capacity, tilt and orientation, so a cloudy month lowers the line too. April–October values for Inverter B are read from the chart and are approximate.
What happens next
The alert is only step one.
Monitoring gets one line: SolarLink watches every inverter against what it should be producing. Everything below is what SolarCare does about it.

36% better
Sites inspected quarterly showed a 36% improvement over sites inspected once a year.

79% missed
Thermal imaging alone misses most risky connector and fuse problems: 79% of high-risk connector and fuse issues show no detectable heat signature.

50–70%
Inverters cause roughly half to 70% of O&M failure events and are typically budgeted for replacement around years 10–12.

~48% of losses
In 2025, string and combiner faults caused about 48% of lost production across U.S. sites (average loss 5.08%, about $5,070 per MW).

How we inspect
Review your SolarLink data first — trends, faults, string and combiner currents, your site's risk factors.
Thermal scan under load — strong sun (600 W/m² or more), low wind, right angle, reflections checked.
Hands-on checks thermal can't see — connector brand-match audit, pull tests, torque checks at combiners, fuses and inverters, insulation-resistance testing, I-V curve tracing on suspect strings.
Inverter health — fault and derate history, fans and filters, temperatures, firmware, and whether the maker still supports it.
Site and civil — drainage, erosion, vegetation shading, racking and roof.
A report with payback on every item — fix now, fix soon, wait and watch, or replace.
Quarterly or annual? Your site's performance decides.
Quarterly if any apply
- Production 3%+ below expected last quarter or repeated inverter faults
- Inverters older than 8 years or from a maker that no longer supports them
- Mixed-brand connectors or ground-fault history
- Built in 2020 or no commissioning records
- Ballasted rooftop; hail or heavy-snow exposure
- A safety finding in the last 12 months
Annual if
- The site is healthy and well documented, with none of the above
- SolarLink keeps watching in between
Four clean quarters and you move to annual. A new warning sign and you move to quarterly.
How SolarLink works
Not a fixed estimate. A live benchmark.
Most monitoring tells you what your system produced last month. SolarLink tells you what it should be producing this hour — then measures the gap. Toggle the conditions below and watch the Delta calculate itself.
Live irradiance
Real-time solar irradiance data benchmarked against your system's rated capacity and orientation.
Delta calculation
The gap between theoretical and actual output, condition-adjusted so weather never reads as a fault.
Action, not alerts
Underperformance triggers dispatch. Overperformance is confirmed. You get the SolarLink Report, not a dashboard to babysit.

What we advise before the next report
Recommendations
- Schedule the next drone IR thermography scan before peak summer irradiance.
- Review inverter warranty end dates now — replacements are cheapest before failures, not after.
- Keep the dispatch trigger armed at your chosen threshold — no dispatch happens without it paying back.

Inverter INV-05 tripping offline mid-day
INV-05 trips at ~11 am on hot days and resets by afternoon. Every trip day loses about 340 kWh — $41 at your $0.12/kWh rate.
Vegetation shading the western strings
The west-edge tree shades ST-01 after 2 pm and grows through the season — a trim lifts the dip.
What it's costing you right now
$41 per day
$41/day from the INV-05 trips, plus $12/day from the western tree shading. SolarLink totals this live from your readings — you never have to guess.
